Seeing red over green
Most government “green new deals” are gray, solar entrepreneur Jeremy Leggett told the World Conference of Science Journalists in London this week: “They clearly don’t get it.”
Other Leggettisms:
* Shell’s Say no to no ad: “What that Shell slogan is really saying is ‘Let’s say yes to tar sands’.”
* On corporate and governmental preference for big fossil fuel projects: “Most middle-aged men in power had massive Meccano sets as children. They are stuck with the model – It’s got to be big to be good.”
* “’Peak oil’ will be the biggest story of your working lives.”
* “We promote democracy. With a world of renewables, there would be no need for war and repression.”
* “The big established boys have declared war on renewable energy.”
