The Maldives and being Carbon Neutral
4th September 2009 |
Hello Oneclimate,
Recently the Maldives claimed that they had become the first country to go carbon neutral. This is all very well but i looked online and read that their economy relies on tourism accounting for just over 40%. Presumably the vast majority of these tourists are flying in producing vast ammounts of c02. I suppose this is more of a discussion point rather than a question but i would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks,
Mary
