350 in the metaverse

This is a virtual 350 event in Second Life on OneClimate Island. We have built the 350 Pavilion for a Green Expo and are inviting avatars to come to the opening on 24th October & hold the 350 sign and take a pic of themselves. The Green Expo will be in place until the Copenhaven Live 24/7 events on OneClimate Island. The island held Virtual Poznan and Virtual Bali events (see below) and is owned by OneWorld UK  whose aim is to leverage participatory media innovatively for a fair and sustainable world and offer EcoCasting as an alternative to travelling to meetings and events. Come to the Arena during the talks in Copenhagen & see our live streams every day! We will be there so you don't have to go.

This Saturday the event kicks off at 1.45pm Second Life Time (9.45pm UK time - see www.secondlife.com for time in your country) with a short hello, followed by an hour of live music from Steely Decosta (see below) and then a couple of short speeches and a mass photo-shoot. During the dancing individuals will take pictures of the event with avatars holding the 350 sign for submission (via Coughdrop Littlething).

The Expo has over 20 booths with a wide range of exhibits. These range from Peak Oil & the Transition Network, to Coca Cola & social justice, the story of William Kamkwanba, www.justice-climatique.org, thermal modelling tools, Art & Ecology, V-Innovate virtual meetings and OneClimate.net who are promoting no-fly meetings through EcoCasting. Steely Decosta will be playing, streaming live music into Second Life at 2pm SL time (10pm UK time), here is how he describes himself; ....Singer/Guitarist from Louisville, Kentucky. Not only is Steely a versatile and accomplished guitarist, but his voice will captivate you as you feel the passion and emotion for each song he performs come through. His sound and style of playing has created a signature original to Steely. His experience playing many clubs and events in real life brings a diverse range of music to us such as Ben Harper, Steely Dan, Plain White T's, The Eagles, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Three Doors Down,James Morrision just to name a few. Steely also performs some original songs which are incredible.
