I was born 1955 and mainly in Germany in the 60s and 70s - when I finished school and startet university - the word "green" became a new meaning. You remember? Before it was just a color smile.

"Environment Protection" and "Alternative Energy" poped up as new slogans. In the 1970s, environmentalists and peace activists were politically organized as thousands of action groups. To form a parliamentary arm to this movement some founded The Greens (German: Die Grünen). Opposition to pollution, use of nuclear power, NATO military action, and certain aspects of life in a highly industrialized society were principal campaign issues.

In the 80s and 90s (and of course even today) other political parties one by one adopted the subjects "Environment Protection" and "Alternative Energy" - mainly not to lose too much votes.

During all these years I very often asked myself … what the hell are they doing there? Beside discussing what could happen if that happens and if not what else could happen if it doesnt happen as we await it to happen? Some half-hearted laws, some government aids (which they of course directly add to your electric bill as special charge)? Some environment protection laws, often to compensate the damage of environment caused by usage of fossil energy sources?

Lets keep it simple, already in the 80s I learned, that we have no energy problem at all. The total solar energy absorbed by Earth's atmosphere, oceans and land masses is approximately 3,850,000 exajoules (EJ) per year. In 2002, this was more energy in one hour than the world used in one year. Photosynthesis captures approximately 3,000 EJ per year in biomass. The amount of solar energy reaching the surface of the planet is so vast that in one year it is about twice as much as will ever be obtained from all of the Earth's non-renewable resources of coal, oil, natural gas, and mined uranium combined.

We have only a problem to make this energy available where it is needed. No, even not a problem, because there are solutions for that developed long ago. And the more during the last 35 years. Today it is one of the fastest growing industries - no matter about what kind of alternative energy source we are talking. But what did really change?

"Global Warming" and "Climate Change" are discussed at the moment anywhere and you might even have heard of it. The climate of our planet is changing, that's for sure. And from our perspective, the point of view of human race, not just to our benefit. Weather disasters, displacement of the seasons, flooding and drying up of water, rising sea levels and more does'nt make our lives easier - unfortunately in too much cases shorter. There are plenty of sources about this topic, so no need to go in details. A fundamental question is raised repeatedly, and I want to explain briefly why the answer actually also does not really matter:

Is the global warming and climate change caused by us humans or it is a repetition of earlier, maybe natural processing? I am convinced that it is caused at least in part by us (such as 98% of all scientists, too), but as I said earlier, it is actually not really important. Why? Because we need to do for other reasons anyway everything that might possibly be the cause of climate change.

1. If we just presume to be responsible, what would have to be done to stop global warming and climate change?

  • Replacing fossil fuels with alternative energy sources
  • Waste prevention and recycling of valuable substances
  • Effective conditioning and e.g. desalination of water

  • There are certainly more things to be done, but these should be the main challenges

    2. There are- very simplified - four possible scenarios for our actions

Sounds obvious, right? And really not that complicated if you keep it simple. The only question is who pays for it and who starts it?

You know, the answer to the question "who pays for it", is even answered quickly - we all will pay- whether we like it or not. Would it perhaps not be smarter, to decide by ourselves when to start, where and how, instead of waiting for decisions of so-called competent state apparatus, which - if they ever will make decisions - want only our best anyway, means our money? Which partly may have prior-ranking perhaps even different interests?
Now, the one or the other might ask, "... sure, sounds interesting, but what I can do as individual?" Frankly, not so much, maybe saving a bit of energy here, producing a bit energy there, handling carefully with water and waste - you know all this and more. And do not misunderstand me please, all that is important and necessary. But to really change - will maybe last forever or be too late.

Now - how can we get rid of the problem?

By my personal opinion only by solving it ourselves - you and me. And all others. Or at least a lot of all others. And if a lot of people would take action instead of discussing what could happen if that happens and if not what else could happen if it doesnt happen as we await it to happen, I can show them how to solve most of these mentioned so called problems in a few years. Now thats my dream. To find and bring together these people and show them how to act. And you for sure will be a bit astonished, how simple it can be.

I told it before, I like to keep the things simple.

Have a look to these numbers:

    • facebook: about 300,000,000 members
    • Twitter: about 30,000,000 members
    • Xing: about 8,300,000 members
    • LinkedIn about 35,000,000 members
    • ecademy: (to be honest, I dont know)
      etc.
How about the idea to start a community like that, share it with all members and invest the profit together in our future - the future of our planet?

You know, I have 4 children and even a grandson meanwhile, I feel responsible for them and cannot risk to wait if something happens or not.

Therefore I start these days envidoo at www.envidoo.com. The Global Social Network for an Integrated Environment Protection Concept with Business Opportunity and Shareholder Concept.

My dream is to bring together as much people as possible which even want really to DO something.
