Learn about the Sierra Club's Beyond Coal Campaign in Los Angeles - and find out how it fits into a broader nationwide effort to transition the country off of coal-fired power and onto renewable energy.

Every day the city of Los Angeles gets 44% of its energy from dirty coal fired power plants. These coal plants pollute the planet with mercury, arsenic, lead, and numerous other toxic substances.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is a co-owner in two coal plants: Navajo Generating Station and Intermountain Power Project. As a municipal utility, you have the right to voice your concerns about the direction of the utility and its power purchasing decisions. Join us at this informational meeting and find out how you can get involved.
