Environmentally friendly air conditioning
Shortage of energy and global warming are problems that undoubtedly affect the entire world and, consequently, they will be addressed in the Chapter “Energy and Climate Change” of the World Congress and Exhibition: ENGINEERING 2010 – ARGENTINA.
Likewise, concerned about this issue, many experts and engineers carry out researches and develop systems to solve the present situation or, at least, not to make it worse. This is the case of the innovative air conditioning developed by the researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado. These engineers have invented a breakthrough technology in air conditioning that is expected to enhance efficiency significantly and to eliminate those gases that contribute to global warming.
This new unit combines evaporative cooling with materials that absorb water from the air to provide fresh and dry air, using up to 90% less total energy than traditional air conditioning.
