CSRminute: Walgreen's CSR Website; Miami Sponsors Online Sustainable Travel Exhibition
Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, August 12th:
Walgreen’s has launched a new social responsibility Web site to highlight the company’s commitment to supplier diversity, the environment, and community. The site includes articles, personal stories, videos, and interactive features about the company’s practices and benefits to the communities it serves. It also features eco-friendly initiatives including efforts to reduce plastic bag usage, a cell phone and printer cartridge recycling program, and the AARP/Walgreens Wellness tour.
Cruise Shipping Virtual, an online exhibition and conference, has been announced by Cruise Shipping Miami. The one-day event will focus on sustainability, and includes two webinars organized in association with Sustainable Travel International, focusing on sustainable tourism issues. Cruise Shipping Miami is also offering a three-tiered, Green Travel Certificate Program, administered by STI, for taking part in this
and future webinars. The event is scheduled for this September.
