Greenpeace International is looking for a fluent English speaker who's a natural networker, and a great writer to join our Communications Department internship programme for six months, starting in May 2012.

You are great with words and very familiar with internet publishing – blogs, Twitter, Facebook and email in particular. Previous experience contributing to fashion community websites or networking with bloggers would be a great asset!

2012 is a jam packed year for us, building on campaigns like Go Beyond Oil, Barbie, Facebook Unfriend Coal and Detox. You will work on materials for our next campaigns, on spreading them, and monitoring their impact. You will also have other related responsibilities, working in a team of six Communications Department interns from around the world in our Amsterdam office.

We are looking for a student or recent graduate who is

  • A great writers writer (and excellent proof-reader too!),
  • Enthusiastic about making other people enthusiastic about taking action for the planet,
  • Experienced in using social media,
  • Interested in how social media works,
  • Comfortable promoting an idea and defending an argument for Greenpeace,
  • And eligible to work in the Netherlands.

The internship is based in Amsterdam and lasts for six months beginning in May.

Application Closing Date: 27 February 2012

PROJECT LEADERSHIP

You will spend roughly 50 percent of your time on the tasks above and related work in the Communications Department. For the rest of your time, you will work together as a team on your own online outreach or media analysis project, which you select from a list of projects proposed by your line manager. You will plan and execute the projects during your internship.

CONDITIONS AND HOW TO APPLY

Greenpeace International internships are full-time positions (up to 40 hours per week). Our internships are meant for students or recent graduates who have completed their studies less than one year ago. This internship lasts six months and remuneration is via a modest monthly honorarium.

Only EU nationals and those with a valid work permit for The Netherlands are asked to apply. The interns will have to take out health insurance before starting the internship.

If you have not been contacted within 6 weeks of the closing date for applications, we regret that you have not been short-listed for further consideration.

Please send a cover letter with links to relevant work you have done, and your CV before February 27 to: recruitment.int@greenpeace.org and cc: edubsky@greenpeace.org
